Summary of June and July Board Meetings

At the Board of Directors meetings held in June and July 2010 it was resolved to:

  • Approve new fee payment option for golf which includes annual membership and competition fees for the year for a total fee of $1,500.
  • Advise BVSC of Board's support of concept of road through club land to service rear of Main Street properties subject to appropriate compensation, acceptable road location, and other matters.
  • Retain existing Bowling Green Fees for 2010/11
  • Approve funding printing cost of Tura Beach Steering Committee proposed community survey form.
  • Approve proposed emergency services entry and exit points on Club Sapphire Tura golf course.
  • Terminate current cleaning contract for both venues.
  • Consider proceeding with refresh of Club Sapphire Tura clubhouse external signage at August Board meeting.
  • Undertake review of new Thursday Golf Competition at September Board meeting.
  • Approve MIBC Tournament Committee's recommended changes to Winter Carnival (reduce to one week), and changes to Fortune Fours and Men's Pairs 2011dates.
  • Approve 2010/11 Operating and Capital Expenditure budgets for both venues.
  • Approve staged implementation of selected components of 2010/11 Capital Expenditure budgets including stage one of refurbishment of Sapphire Room (approx $180,000) replacement of old Sapphire Room furniture (approx $40,000), replacement of existing shared courtesy bus with two new smaller venue specific 12 seat buses (approx $75,000), purchase of cleaning equipment (approx $11,000) and Bunker Rake ($6,000).
  • Approve payment of $8,300 towards cost of Tura Beach Women's Bowls pennant teams participation in State Finals.
  • Relocate TAB outlet at Tura to eastern end of clubhouse.
  • Approve proposed Environmental Sustainability Policy in relation to waste management.
  • Approve 2010/11 CDSE Category One donations to 35 charitable organisations operating in the Bega Valley to the value of $41,450.
  • Approve CDSE Category Two donations to; Merimbula Basketball Association, Merimbula 1st Cub Scouts & Venturers, NSW RSL Bowls Association Zone 21, SERAS Lawn Bowls Team, Legacy, Burragate Rural Fire Service, Down South Jazz Club, South Coast Area Schools Lawn Bowls, Wires, and two local school boys participating in National AFL Championships in Perth.
  • Approve 332 new memberships comprising:
    • MIBC Bowls: 4
    • TBCC Bowls 1
    • Golf: 3
    • Gym Junior: 7
    • Country Golf: 2
    • Tennis: 1
    • Social & staff members: 314
  • An additional 85 members changed membership category

The next monthly Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday 11 August 2010 2.00pm.
