Board Meeting 22 April 2009

At the Board of Directors meeting held on Wednesday 22 April 2009 it was resolved to:

  1. Rescind the resolution "Bowling membership fees be increased to $120 for 2009/10 and Golf Membership fees be increased inline with the five year plan" which had been carried at 25 March 2009 Board meeting.
  2. Purchase a boom spray at approximate cost of $6,000 for Tura on the basis the existing unsuitable spray be sold as soon as possible.
  3. Appoint Merimbula Realty and Merimbula Lake as joint agents to sell 17 Berrambool Drive.
  4. Resolved the following membership fees will apply for 2009/10 from 13 May 2009:

  6. Management will estimate the benefits to bar, gaming and catering from bowling tournaments at Merimbula and other flow on benefits to the company from bowls and golf activity.
  7. Finance Committee will meet with sections to establish what cost savings can be implemented in the upcoming year's budget.
  8. Confirm Tournament Committee is responsible for Business House Triples
  9. Accept Tournaments Committee's recommendation to increase fees to $8 for Business House Triples and to modify conditions of play relating to the number of experienced bowlers per team.
  10. Approve purchase of lap top computer for TBMBC and MIBC Tournament Committee.
  11. Consider introduction of a "media unit" or "marketing committee" to promote/advertise bowling and golf at a future Board meeting.
  12. Eliminate membership joining fees for the 2009/10 year on a trial basis.
  13. Approve sponsorship of Merimbula Grasshoppers Soccer Club and Merimbula Basketball Association.
  14. Approve 66 new or transferring memberships comprising:
    • MIBC Bowls: 1
    • Gym Junior: 1
    • Country Golf: 1
    • Social: 39
    • Staff: 1
    • Holiday (one month): 23

The next monthly Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday 27 May at 3.00pm.
