Summary of Board Meeting 8 June 2011 |

At the Board of Directors meeting held on 8 June 2011 it was resolved to:
- Increase benefits provided to Restricted Golfing Members to 15 complimentary games from the existing 10.
- Increase standard golf green fees to $36 and all other golf green fees accordingly from 1 July 2011.
- Adopt the following Bowlers Pennant travel policy for Merimbula, effective from next Pennant season.
- Accommodation (Team Manager to book)
- Transport (bus or car, team to decide)
- Meals and other incidental costs
- All costs related to partners
- Pennant State Events
Pennant Regional Events
Payments (from Club Sapphire) apply to car travel to Mallacoota ($55 per car) and Bombala ($45 per car) for a maximum of three cars per event
Pennant Zone Events (also applicable to individual players representing the Zone where they have been selected by Zone)
Payments (from Club Sapphire) apply when distance dictates the necessity for overnight accommodation. In these circumstances, a fee of $250 per player (including manager, reserve, President) is paid toward costs irrespective of number of days and/or costs involved for a max of 15 persons per event. Each attendee is to pay all their costs including:
Club Sapphire pays for coach transportation and accommodation (shared rooms and including continental breakfast) for up to 15 players (including manager, reserve, President) and pays $40 per day for expenses to each player including manager, reserve, President. Partners are welcome but pay own accommodation and meal costs. Only in the circumstances where no coach is provided, a travel rebate of 25 cents per kilometre up to a maximum of $200 per car would be payable (to max of 10 cars, car pooling encouraged).
- Increase Merimbula Green Fees by $1 and prize money by $5, with any net surplus in revenue being set aside in a fund for utilisation by the Merimbula Bowling Membership Taskforce to promote bowling membership and recruitment, effective 1 July 2011.
- Endorse the concept of nil entry fees and nil prize money for Merimbula Club Championships, with a commemorative medallion replacing winner's prizemoney, effective from 2012.
- Tura Steering Committee members are permitted to attend Board constituted Tura venue committee meetings. Directors continue to chair these meetings until de-amalgamation is effective.
- Receive with regret, the resignation of Merimbula Tournament Committee secretary Bob Bridges.
- Approve the purchase of a new oven for Sapphire Room Kitchen and Pacific Bistro Kitchen ($37,500)
- Approve the purchase of a membership card printer for Tura venue ($3,500).
- Adopt a policy pursuant to the Liquor Act of refusing access and turning out of the premises for a minimum of 12 months, any person who is removed or turned out of the premises and who has been issued with a notice from Police for failing to quit the premises when required to do so.
- Clarify the Board's powers to act, when considered appropriate to do so, by adopting the following new By-Law 10.1, as recommended by the solicitor:
- The Board of Directors may by resolution remove a person from membership of:
- any Management Committee of any section; or
- any section; or
- any committee established by:
- the Board; or
- any Management Committee of any section; or
- any section;
- The Management Committee of any section may make a request to the Board that the Board pass a resolution pursuant to By Law 10.1 to remove a person from membership of that Management Committee or the Section or a Committee.
- Approve TBWBC request for assistance with State Pennant Travel costs, consistent with existing policy and as applying to MIWBC and MIMBC.
- Approve the request from MIMBC to hold Presidents Day bowling event on 2 October 2011 at a cost of between $3,000 and $4,000.
- Confirm implementation date for the De-amalgamation Scheme of Arrangement is 1 October 2011 or such earlier date as the Board shall by resolution determine.
- Approve donations and sponsorships of Guide Dogs ACT/NSW, Merimbula Basketball Association, Imlay House Auxiliary, Merimbula Sailboard Club Presentation Dinner, and complimentary room hire for numerous not-for-profit community organisations.
- Approve 70 new and transferring memberships comprising:
- Staff & Social Members - 67
- Tura Bowls - 2
- Gym Junior - 1
